It is the biggest fear of manufacturers fielding a new, possibly game-changing product, a bad batch followed by a publicized recall. Research in Motion has issued a recall for 1000 BlackBerry PlayBooks that were sold through Staples. No specifics were given on the nature of the recall but users who may have bought a PlayBook at Staples should check out the list of serial numbers posted over at Engadget. Here are a few things to consider, seems the issue is limited to the 16GB version of the PlayBook and it isn't clear if this affects Staples-bought PlayBooks in the US or if it extends to the Canadian stores.
